I completed the 10k in 1 hr 11 mins 58 secs. Making me 6398th out of the 10,740 who completed the race. Not my best time ever, but who cares?
I had a great day with my fabulous running buddies and thankfully managed to finish before the terrible hailstorm started.
Thanks to each and every one who sponsored me, supported me and came along to watch the race. Big hugs to you all and a huge thank you on behalf of the fantastic work being done at St Luke's Clinic in Liberia.
Love, Anna xx ************************************************* I gave birth to our beautiful, darling son, Luke, in October 2008. My Consultant Obstetrician at the Queen Mum's was Dr Eileen Reilly, who has devoted much of her time to help set up a maternity clinic for mothers-to-be in the Tubmanburg area of Liberia, Africa.
This clinic (which is incidently called St Luke's) is desperately in need of help to improve facilities for mums and babies in Liberia where women risk a 1 in 16 chance of dying during pregnancy or childbirth. In industrialised countries that chance is only 1 in 4000.
I feel so fortunate to have received such fantastic maternity care, free of charge, here in Scotland, so I'm running the Women's 10k to raise funds for St Luke's Clinic in Liberia (donations go through Mary's Meals) so that mothers and babies in Africa can have a better chance of having healthier, happier starts to their lives.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Mary’s Meals gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So, if you can, please sponsor me now.
Thank you, Anna xx

Mary’s Meals is a global movement that sets up school feeding programmes in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. The charity now feeds more than 2.4 million children every school day and it costs just £19.15/€22.00 to feed a child for a year.
