Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2015 marks the end of my 5-year remission from breast cancer. This is a journey that I did not expect to take part in but one that, without doubt, has shaped the life I now lead and the amazingly courageous people I have met. I can honestly say that I never take a single day for granted now or moan when I've had a bad day in the office. I'm not a saint though and i still have very dark moments but running has helped me beat those gremlins. I went from never running more than a very slow 5k to running 26.2 miles and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the end of my remission and the final chapter in this long journey than running the ultimate marathon - London 2015 for Breast Cancer Care. This charity helped me and my family through every step, through the darkest hours and then through the uncertainty of the years that followed, when every tweak and pain made me worry. This small contribution is the very least I can do. If I make my total of £2K I will dye my hair pink and run in a pink tutu - its a promise!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Evert penny will count, so thank you, from the bottom of my heart for anything that you feel you can contribute.
I will keep you posted! And I promise that this will be the last time I ask for support. 2015 is a big year! I should also add that 2015 marks 10 years of marriage to my amazing and long-suffering husband Phil. He has stood by me through all of this and has looked after the boys whilst I continue to train and whilst I have endured the many visits to hospital. He is my rock.
Much love
