Story
Starting on the 1 May 2022, I’ll be taking part in the Bike Ride in Zambia with CARE International UK, which will cover up to 500 km.
CARE works in over 80 developing countries, helping the world’s poorest people to work themselves out of poverty. One of the initiatives is a microfinance lending scheme ‘LendWithCare’. It brings together entrepreneurs from local communities with people who are able to help them, people like you and me!
The entrepreneurs apply for loans through their local community groups. For example, Deborah, from the Progress Chileleko Group, has asked for a loan to buy feed for her chickens and also buy more chickens for her business. She hopes of improving her poultry house using profits from the sale. Another entrepreneur, Clodia, from the Progress Tusoleke Group, wants to use her share of the loan to order more stock of soft drinks and biscuits for her stall. She has been running her business for fourteen years on which her family has been surviving. During my trip I will have the privilege of meeting families like Deborah’s and Claudia’s who have directly benefited from the loans received from LendWithCare.
I’m trying to raise £3,350 and will be covering the costs of the trip myself, so everything you donate will go directly to CARE’s life-changing work. Every donation will be hugely appreciated. It is a fantastic opportunity to offer real hope to people living in poverty!
Thank you in advance for your support.
