Story

Hi! This is a cause very close to our hearts.  Our beautiful daughters, Alice and Lottie, were born extremely prematurely at 26+4 weeks in August 2022.  We had been diagnosed with Twin to Twin Transfusion syndrome (TTTS) during our pregnancy, a rare but life-threatening condition where one twin transfuses blood to the other through blood vessels in the placenta.   At 19 weeks we received laser ablation treatment in utero to block the connecting blood vessels.  Without this procedure, we were told we would almost certainly lose both babies.  Thankfully, the procedure was successful.  Both babies were able to continue developing & although they arrived three months prematurely, both girls are now doing really well .

We are so incredibly grateful for the treatment and care that we have received, and know that we are very fortunate to have two healthy little girls.  We want to support the Twins Trust as they help other families facing complications during pregnancy, and in funding research into TTTS and other conditions affecting twin and multiple pregnancies.

Any donations very gratefully received :)

Love from, Kate, James, Lottie & Alice xx
