WHAT WAS I THINKING??????!!!!!!

This is what went through my head as soon as I put down the phone to Joan at Sunflowers after telling her I'd be running the Mersey Tunnel 10K to raise money for them.

Anyone that knows me, knows that while my friends do spin, tough guy/mudder and various other 'sporting activities', my weekly workout consists of a peruse around Topshop. So either I've gone mad or I've realised how much this charity means to me and want to raise them as much money as I can. Either way I've got a pair of trainers so that's a start!

I've watched Cancer take loved ones, rip families apart and leave people so grief stricken they can't function. So many amazing charities are doing everything they can to find a cure, but in the meantime those affected often need the help and support not only of their friends and family but also of professional teams and this is where Sunflowers steps in....

Sunflowers in Liverpool, provided a unique support service to individuals and families affected by a cancer diagnosis in the Merseyside region. They offer advice and guidance services, counselling, alternative therapies and group support sessions in a welcoming and safe environment. The team are experienced in the emotions and practical support needed following a cancer diagnosis and provide a tailor made support service for individuals and their families; responding directly to their needs.

I know it's never a good time to ask for money, but even £1 would make such a difference. In return I promise to work my bum off for the next 6 weeks, to run the whole race (not walk) and to take pictures so you know I've done it (and haven't just turned up at the end and claimed the glory). I'll even try to stay off the Gin if it means you'll sponsor me (ok now I have gone mad). Seriously though please, please, PLEASE sponsor me and let's help this wonderful charity do what they do best........help others.
