Story
I will be running Leeds half marathon with my friend Lucy in memory of my grandad who passed away from Alzheimer’s in January of this year. He truly was my best friend; and while he was extremely lucky to have the strong support network our family provided for him as well as having the opportunity to make incredible memories, especially helping him connect with music- not every dementia patient is so lucky.
If you have ever experienced or been affected directly or indirectly by Dementia you will fully understand what a cruel disease it is; and how much of an impact it has on the patient, and everyone around them. It presents both emotional and physical challenges that are truly devastating. This is a cause very close to my heart and I hope you can appreciate it will be very challenging! Please did deep to support this incredible charity. The work Alzheimer’s Society do supports patients, their families and helps provide light in very dark times. They also work tirelessly to find research on this terrible disease.
“Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.”
