An udder fundraising half marathon! 🐮 , 23 May 2020
We give children a week on working farms to grow courage, compassion and curiosity

Story

So I’ve decided to run a half marathon in a cow costume to raise some much needed funds for the wonderful Farms for City Children charity.

Founded by the inspirational Sir Michael Mopurgo and his wife Clare in 1976, this charity offers urban kids the chance to work and live together on a real farm for a full week. They learn where and how their food is produced by working themselves out in the fields and with the animals. They’re able to explore the countryside, which for most, is a totally new experience. They grow and pick veg in the garden to eat that evening. And every morning they collect the eggs from the chickens to enjoy for breakfast. It gives these children the chance to experience a ‘world away’ from their own (and often difficult) family situations.

Due to these exceptional times, all forthcoming fundraising events have had to be postponed or cancelled, so any funds raised will be so gratefully received in order to keep this dear charity going.

Thank you 🐮 Xxx
