After 7 or 8 years of applying (I forget), I won a ballot place for the London marathon in 2020. I trained hard, everything was looking good.....then Covid came and you know the rest. I was gutted that all my training went to waste.  Lockdowns were hard and my motivation to run dwindled.  The 2021 and 2022 marathons were both moved to October but I knew I wouldn't have time to train through the summer, so I deferred to April 2023. Now here we are, three years on and I've got to DO THIS! 

Training has not gone to plan, life has thrown things in the way, but I've managed to keep up the long runs and completed my 20 mile training run on time.  I've set up this page as people have asked to show their support, for which I am very grateful. I work at Hope and Homes for Children and know of the good work the charity does. It's inspiring and motivating to hear the charities achievements in the countries we work in, and the lives that have been changed and improved. Anything you can give to show your support is truly appreciated. Thank you.

Every child needs someone who supports them & takes care of them, who wants them to be happy. Every child needs to know they are loved & they belong. Children never belong in orphanages. They don’t protect children, they harm them. And they are never necessary. Every child needs a family. We have been working to transform the lives of children in orphanages since 1994. Today we are working with children in 30 countries with our teams of skilled, local child-protection professionals to keep families together & reunite or build new families.
