Story
This September I will be joining up with some of my colleagues to undertake an overnight, marathon-length walk around the streets of London to raise money for Macmillan who, for any of you who haven't heard me banging on about it for the past two years, provide vital support for millions of people living with and beyond cancer and their families, friends and carers. All money raised from this event specifically will go directly towards providing emergency fuel grants for people affected by cancer living in fuel poverty.
'Two years?!' I hear you ask. That's right. This also marks my two year Maciversary working for this amazing organisation so what better way to celebrate?
For anyone who thinks walking 26 miles sounds like, well, a walk in the park, here's an article by someone who's done it who basically says it's hell: http://www.athenryac.com/whats-it-walk-marathon. And I have little legs so it's going to be even harder for me. Not to mention it's on a Saturday night so I'm giving up valuable drinking time!
All I'm asking in exchange for this selfless sacrifice (seriously, no drinking on a Saturday?!) is that you help me raise a measly £100 for this wonderful cause, so please dig deep!
