This May, I am walking/hiking/crawling 100km of the Jurassic Coast over 2 days with my friend Emily who I roped into joining me! (something that fills me with dread just writing, walking for me is normally a stroll to the pub!!) 

I am walking to raise money for a charity close to my heart, the National Autistic Society and to raise awareness of Autism. 

As many of you know, almost 2 years ago my son Bodhi (now 4 1/2yrs old) was diagnosed autistic. He is still mostly non-verbal with very limited understanding of language.

He is also, super talented at jigsaws and is currently smashing 350 piece puzzles quicker than the rest of us!

Bo (and our family) have faced many challenges already and the journey is a long one with many more to come.

But charities such as the National Autistic Society and support groups have been paramount in understanding more about a world we knew little about and getting Bo and us the help that's out there/support we need.

The National Autistic Society's mission...

To transform lives by providing support, information and practical advice for the 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK, as well as their three million family members and carers.

To change attitudes by improving public understanding of autism and helping businesses, local authorities and government to provide more autism-friendly spaces, deliver better services and improve laws.

....and as Bo's mum, what more could I want or ask for him and the thousands of other autistic children/adults & families like my own.
