AANE and AHA-NY recently joined forces! AANE works with individuals, families, and professionals to help people with Asperger's and similar autism spectrum profiles build meaningful, connected lives. AANE provides providing information, education, community, support, and advocacy--all in an atmosphere of validation and respect. 

When AANE and AHA-NY joined forces, my mom, Pat, was named Director of the NY AANE chapter. But my family isn't just professionally involved with causes surrounding Asperger's and high-functioning autism; we are personally involved. As many of you know, my brother has Asperger's. He grew up at a time when we didn't even know what it was, let alone have the opportunity to receive any of the specialized -- and life-changing -- services that are available today. So we understand first-hand the extraordinary value of having well-informed and well-trained professionals and parents.
