Story
Every week FoodCycle's volunteers prepare and offer nutritious meals for people at risk from food poverty and social isolation using surplus food and spare kitchen spaces.
While all FoodCycle Projects have been put on pause, FoodCycle has adapted its operational model and continues to provide service to the community by offering a food parcel delivery service to people that are struggling to afford food.
I have been volunteering for FoodCycle for almost 3 years now and not been able to Saturday morning cooking sessions at the Finsbury Park hub is one of the things that I miss the most during the lockdown. Taking part in the 2.6 challenge gives me the opportunity to help FoodCycle raise the necessary funds. Please help me help them to continue helping people in need.
Save the UK's CharitiesGeneral fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
