My name is Anna and my husband Marc and I have 2 great children, Mia 4, and Joseph 20 months. When Joseph was 4 and half weeks old he was admitted to Lister Hospital with a very serious bacterial infection. When I asked if he was going to be ok, they said they didn't know, but they would do everything could.  This was without doubt the worst day of our lives.

Thankfully he is completely fine now, but he had to stay in hospital for 10 days (and he was admitted for a further 2 smaller stays over the next few months),  I stayed with him the whole time. Marc looked after Mia and they came to visit every day. When they were here Marc stayed with Joey and Mia and I went to the playroom. This is a great place for the poorly children to play and forget about their troubles, but it is also great for their siblings.  Mia and I would get to spend quality time together here. The staff at the children's ward at Lister Hospital were absolutely fantastic, and the charity we're raising money for is the 'Magic of Play Appeal' at the Lister Hospital which needs £250,000 to replace the old portakabin (that is 25 years old and is in a bad state of repair) with a new larger much better building.
