Story
My life long friend lost her dad last year. He was diagnosed with early stages of Prostate Cancer in 2008 and received regular treatment since then to help him.
In October 2015 he collapsed as a result of a tumour on his spine which was linked to his prostate cancer and unfortunately he wasn't able to walk following that. I was shocked to see him deteriorate so quickly. He was a family man and although he was in a lot of pain and discomfort he didn't like others seeing him in that way.
John lost his battle on 7 September 2016 so we want to mark the first anniversary of his passing away by raising as much money as we can for Prostate Cancer UK to help other amazing men like him and raise awareness of the fantastic work this charity does.
As well as doing the Great North Run this year I've also just released an original song dedicated to the GNR, family and the love of the North East. Proceeds to Prostate Cancer U.K.
