Story
On 19th June, I'll be running in the Leeds 10k to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. As most of you will know, I have never actually chosen to do any kind of fitness training in my life so this will be particularly hard to train for. Please sponsor me and help me raise as much money as possible for such a well-deserving charity.
Since I completely smashed my original target of £156 I have chosen a new one - £400. This could cover an equipment grant for a Macmillan professional. This could buy specialist kit, such as a speech aid, to make a world of difference to someone affected by cancer.
Just 50p could pay for a copy of "The Cancer Guide" - a booklet to help someone recently diagnosed with cancer, and their families, to understand cancer, its treatment, and the help available. So please, every donation, big or small, really does count.
And here's how what I have already raised could help:
£24 could pay for a Macmillan physiotherapist for an hour.
£68 could run a typical Macmillan Information and Support Centre for an hour.
£123 could fund a Macmillan benefits advisor for a day.
£156 could fund the Macmillan Cancerline for an hour, providing people affected by cancer with essential information and support.
£157 could pay for a Macmillan Grant that covers the cost of a person's travel to hospital for treatment.
£190 could fund a Macmillan nurse for a day.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and helped me raise the amount I have. It will make such a difference to people's lives.
