Story
We've accepted the 50k Your Way challenge! This means I (Anna) and my two young sons, Themba aged 5 and Thabelo aged 3, will be pushing ourselves to cover 50 kilometres in the coming weeks. (We had a late start due to illness but will complete it as fast as we can). We are determined to do lots of Peak District walks at the weekends and cover extra distance on the running machine after school and in the evenings too... every km covered by every little and grown up pair of legs will count!
This is my boys' first fundraising challenge. The money we raise will support the fantastic charity I work for, Hope and Homes for Children. We have conclusive evidence that orphanages don't protect children, they harm them - causing emotional damage and even affecting their physical growth. We work across the globe to keep children out of orphanages and in loving families, where they belong. For example - children placed in orphanages in Rwanda because they have a disability, and children still warehoused in orphanages across Ukraine and Romania. Around 80% of these children aren't orphans and can grow up in loving families, given the right support. Thank you for supporting us to get over the 50k line!
