When I was pregnant with both of my babies I spent the majority of my pregnancies in hospital severely ill with a condition call Hyperemesis Gravidarum. PSS are carrying out work to support families with this illness and research into how to stop it; recently work has identified that HG is genetic so I want to do all I can in supporting PSS to ensure my little girl doesn't suffer should she choose to have children.

HG is known as extreme morning sickness,I got told to 'buck up', 'man up', 'eat f'ing ginger' ....on a daily basis. When the doctors realised how ill I was I ended up on anti chemo drugs to try and alleviate the sickness. After pregnancy one I was left with permanent damage to my throat, stomach, teeth. I had damage to my kidneys and post natal depression. I was told by my consultant not to have any more children as it could kill me. I did however have the strongest happiest baby boy. Then I fell pregnant with number 2. This time I was so ill I was advised to terminate my pregnancy. I battled through with support from amazing friends spending nearly the whole pregnancy in hospital again. I lost a lot of weight during pregnancy, further damaged my teeth,throat, stomach and this time managed to damage my heart but I gave birth to the strongest, craziest most beautiful little girl.

This illness is genetic, this illness does kill, this illness impacted my career, home life and mental health and still does to this day.
