We are Team Vanessa! and we are running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

In April 2017, Vanessa's daughter Florence was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoid Leukaemia. Vanessa, chief pharmacist at Lambeth CCG is our friend, colleague, boss and an all-round fantastic person, is taking time out from her career to care for Florence whilst she undergoes treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital.

To show our support for Florence, Vanessa and their family, we have collectively decided to undertake the challenge of running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 8 October 2017. We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for the Royal Marsden cancer charity.

The charity supports a range of services to support cancer patients at the Royal Marsden, such as play specialists for children and young people, and state of the art groundbreaking technologies used in the treatment of cancer patients.The play specialists make the world of difference to Florence - bringing a smile at the worst of times
and making scary procedures feel less daunting.

I think it’s safe to say we are not all natural runners but the more we raise, the faster we may run!
