Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising money for the Rainbow Centre in Bristol, a small charity that supports children and families affected by bereavement.
In August 2013 my brother in law, Dafydd, died suddenly, leaving behind his son, Rhys, who was aged 2 at the time.
Dafydd was a lovely man, he was brilliant fun to be around and really caring. He made everyone smile. Dafydd was a natural with kids and he and Rhys shared so many fun times, full of love.
I can't begin to put the scale of loss into words, and for a child to go through such loss is unimaginable.
The Rainbow Centre provides therapeutic support including art, play and music therapy to children (words often can't describe the difficult feelings they are experiencing). Parents are supported through counselling and group work.
I am running the half marathon to raise money for the Rainbow Centre as I would like to do anything I can to help other families also experiencing loss and grief.
- £10 would fund art and play therapy materials for a fortnight
- £30 would fund a therapy session for a child or parent
- £100 would fund a whole morning of art or music therapy.
I appreciate you taking the time to read through my story. Any amount, however small, will help to make a real difference.
