Fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease Association
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you who know me are aware, my beloved mother, Georgia, passed away in August 2006 after a two year battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).She was 60 years old.
MND is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing.
There is no cure.
The MND Association is the only national organisation to support people with MND and those who care for them.It is a charity working to promote research into causes, treatments and a cure...moving towards a world free of MND.
Shortly after my mothers death, we, her family set up a Tribute Fund to document money raised for this charity in her name. It is my aim to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity.
Last October, I was privilaged to be part of a 40 strong group which raised £240,000 for MNDA by climbing the amazing Mount Kilimanjaro. My next challenge will be The Inca Trail of Machu Picchu in Peru in May 2012......
