Story
I can't believe I'm actually writing this!
On 2nd July 2016, I'm going to do something that absolutely terrifies me, and jump out of a plane at 10,000ft to raise money for an amazing little charity called 'PACT for Autism.'
You will all know why this is so important to me.... My beautiful little boy, Alfie, was diagnosed with autism and learning disabilities in 2014 when he was aged 3.
Autism is a lifelong 'hidden' disability, and often misunderstood. Alfie will always struggle to understand the world around him, what is expected of him and how to be with other people.
Many children who grow up into adults with autism, require lifelong help and support.
PACT for Autism help to make children like Alfie, and families like us, feel better supported and equipped to face the challenges that come with living with autism; whilst helping to build towards a more positive future for children like Alfie, when they grow up and begin adult life. PACT also put on autism friendly events, meetings that empower parents and carers, and offer friendly, practical support whenever and wherever it's needed
This is a big thing for me to take on, and I am so thankful to anyone who is willing to sponsor me. Every show of support no matter how big or small is appreciated hugely. :)
I might be absolutely terrified jumping out of plane and flying through the air, but I trust I will land safely on the ground and be ok; and I want to feel the same about Alfie's future.
Thanks lovely people :) xxx
