Story
In January 2020, we received the dreadful news that our 13 year old grand-daughter Phoebe had been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, which is a rare form of bone cancer.
She went through gruelling chemotherapy, and had major surgery to remove her left knee joint and femur, which were replaced with a titanium implant. All this was going on against the backdrop of the covid 19 pandemic, and so we were unable to visit Phoebe, our daughter Hannah and the rest of the family for the duration of Phoebe’s treatment. It was a horrendous time for the whole extended family.
It is for that reason that we have enlisted the help of our Norfolk terrier Maisie, ably supported by her good friend Bramble, and have set ourselves the challenge of walking 100km in November to raise funds for the Bone Cancer Research Trust.
This charity leads the way in funding research into finding a cure for primary bone cancer, as well as raising awareness and offering support to those affected.
We would be most grateful if you would support us as we walk through the rain, wind, hail, and possibly blizzards that will doubtless feature in am Edinburgh November.
Many thanks
Ann and James
