Story
Considering ourselves to be adventurous souls we both believe that to experience life you occasionally have to do something you would normally consider a little scary. Neither of us would consider flying scary but jumping out of a plane does raise the heart rate a touch. So here we are. A tandem skydive...no not with each other. We will thankfully be attached to an experienced skydiver.
To add to the challenge, one of us, no names mentioned, has lost a reasonable amount of weight to undertake the jump due to the maximum permitted weight..
******UPDATE******weight lost, getting excited. Hoping for fair weather and calm skies.
We thought it important for such an event to benefit a charity such as St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice. I'm sure you know someone, as we do, who has been affected by a life limiting disease and the effect it has on the quality of life of those suffering and their relatives and friends. The Allium flowers in the picture, were similar to those enjoyed by a friend who enjoyed the view of them in our garden from her window. She benefitted from the services St Luke's could provide and they were very much the unsung heroes and depend so much on the kindness of others. So please give us a hand in helping those who give others much needed respite care and support.
About St Luke's: Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on our ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness. We are a charity and provide all our care for free, so we rely on the generosity and commitment of our supporters to raise more than 80% of our costs.
