I am entering the Race for Life Pretty Muddy 5K in hope to raise money for cancer research uk.

This is a charity very close to my heart. I lost my dad Dave Armstrong in September 2020. He had been unwell for a long time with cancer. All of the medical staff were great in helping him fight this horrible illness and helped give him extra quality time to spend with his friends and family.

My dad was my hero, someone I would always go to if I needed any advice or just a shoulder to cry on. I think about him everyday and he is duly missed. Not only was he the greatest dad, but the best grandad in the world. He was a gentle giant. I know he is looking down on me and the family right now and looking after us like he always used to do. 

I hope to do him proud in raising money for cancer research uk, which is a charity that I know he was extremely proud of for giving him those extra years to see the birth of his grandchildren and cherish more happy memories.

I am raising money for cancer research uk in the hope that one day this horrible illness can be defeated.
