Story
I'm Ann-Marie Gibson
Chef, Wife, Mother.
Last year my dad Fred (David) lost his battle with the Big 'C' He lost his fight but not his sense of humour which he kept till the end.
Although it was a release from the pain it was heartbreaking that dad never got to meet his first Grandchild who arrived 3 days after Dad's death.
As a family we all miss Dad and also all of our other friends who have been cruelly taken from us.
Kate a loving mum and work friend of mine.
Will Dads cousins husband.
They all had their final days at Salisbury hospice.
And Renata a lovely work friend with a supporting family who spent a few days at Salisbury hospice before passing at home.
Although Salisbury Hospice is a sad place it's also a grate comfort with fantastic supportive staff and volunteers and the most beautiful settings .
Dad spent his final day in the courtyard in his bed. A truly fitting place for a man who loved being out doors.
So in memory of my Dad I am running the Snowdonia marathon on 26th October 2019. Dad use to love watching my mum do the London marathon. So I know doing this dad would be proud of my and I know he will be looking down on me as well. My husband Sean will be running with me also.
I'm doing this all for Salisbury hospice to thank them for making my Dad's last few days comfortable.
