On 28th April 2012 our eldest son Harry was diagnosed with Leukaemia. We can’t begin to describe the pain, shock and fear you feel as a parent when you are told your son has cancer. It broke our hearts and turned our world upside down.
One year on Harry is doing really well, he still has chemo and will do for another 2 years but he is in remission. We pray everyday for this to continue.
As tough as life has been for us all as a family it has been so much tougher for our brave boy Harry, everyday he wakes up with a smile on his face. He is our inspiration, and reminds us to live in the moment and keep smiling too!
We have been blown away by all the Doctors and Nurses at L.G.I. and also Candlelighters a charity specifically for children with cancer in Yorkshire. Candlelighters provides many of the essentials that the NHS can't afford like family support, ward equipment and research.
This is why we are doing the Great North Run (all 13.1 miles eeeek!) to raise funds for this remarkable charity that has helped us through our difficult times.....
