Story
I am a 9 year old girl living in Dorset. I love to go walking. I learnt at school how children all over the world have to drink dirty water that makes them ill. We did an experiment in Year 1 at school, I learnt about the work of Water Aid and decided to always do small jobs around the house to raise money for them.
I love walking with my Mum and Dad, but I have never done a walk as long or as hard as this one is. My mum and dad have already tried it, they said it was hard but that if I could complete it they would give me money towards my WaterAid fund. Today I am.doing that walk! I have plenty of sweets and Crunchie bars to keep me going!
Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone’s daily life. Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.
