Story
Ben and I met at 19 and when we reached 38 this year we had been together half our lives which is an amazing thing at such a young age. We still had our lives ahead of us or so we thought. Until January 21 this year Ben was diagnosed with stage 4 Small Cell Lung cancer and told it was incurable and he would not have long even with treatment. Our world fell apart especially when telling our children their Dad was going to die. Ben was unbelievably brave and positive through treatment but in June his health deteriorated and we were later told he had a rare secondary cancer Leptomeningeal cancer which was devastating news as there was no treatment. Ben fought so so hard to be here as long as possible but unfortunately passed away with me at his side on the 15th July 21. We are totally lost without his larger than life personality and his dark sense of humour. I owe the staff at Leckhampton Hospice a great amount for making those last few weeks so much better than they could of been and for looking after Ben as if he was the only important thing in there. They are still supporting me personally so I really want to raise as much as I can for them to continue doing their amazing work.
Please give what you can in memory of my brave, funny and loving husband who I miss everyday.
