Story
Dear All,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well, yet again that time of year has arrived when I feel the need to drag my little legs over a distance that a lot of people would consider too far to drive! But the Great North Run is looming and 13.1 miles have to be covered in only 2 weeks time and I have been rather remiss about collecting donations, until now that is!
Training hasn't gone quite as well as planned this year so I have chosen to do a combination of running and walking as I want to cross the finish line in one piece. I'm sure you will all agree that speed isn't everything, it's as much about the taking part and raising money for a very good cause.
I am running for Cancer Research UK again. Each year thousands of people live thanks to the work done by Cancer Research UK. Sadly there are those who lose the fight against cancer and I am taking part in memory of them. Family friends that I will be remembering this year are Anne Davis, Val Goater, Helena Talbot and Roger Lush who have all lost their fight against cancer. Also remembered is Finlay Nuttal who died this year, at far too young an age, he was only 4 years old.
Please help me to raise money so that next year thousands more will have survived.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you, in anticipation of a donation,
Anita
