Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you that know me you'll know I took up running 4 years ago and since then have completed a number of 10k's. For about a year now I've been considering a half marathon but have always been worried that I might not manage.
Last year my beautiful, smiling, caring, thoughtful Auntie Jess died from a rare type of Lymphoma. During her illness she was supported immensely by the the Anchor Unit and I decided that I wanted to raise some funds for the Anchor Unit to support them with the work they do.
I knew that if anything would get me round the 13.1miles - memories of my Auntie would.
The challenge however is not only the distance but I've only had 4 weeks to train for my chosen race. I only realised 4 weeks ago that there was a Kinloss half marathon. The reason for the choosing this particular event is because my Auntie is buried at Kinloss, my Uncle was head teacher at Kinloss primary and the race passes by Burghead where my Auntie was a teacher. It couldn't be more poignant but obviously time is against me for training.
I am determined to finish it and knowing that friends and family are supporting me as well as doing it in memory of Jess and raising funds for a worthwhile cause at the same time will hopefully carry me over the finish line!!
