Story
Hello / Bonjour / Aslema / Tena yistilign !
In a nutshell, I am tunisian raised between Canada, Belgium and France and working in the GSK Slaoui Center for Vaccines Research Slain Rockville (MD) ! And now, Objective Ethiopia! For a great cause.
Long story short, I have been selected as one of 40 employees from 25 countries, spread across GSK’s business, and from all levels of seniority to take on this amazing challenge. Together we will raise £184,000 (or more) for Save the Children, which will be matched by GSK. In March 2019, we will spend a life-changing seven days trekking up to the 4,550m peak of Ras Dashen in the stunning Simien Mountains, and then visiting a local community to understand more about Save the Children’s work in Ethiopia.
But my challenge begins now. I must start fitness training and, most importantly, start fundraising. And that's where I need YOU !
This cause is very important to me. I believe in justice and equal opportunities for all, no matter where they are from. I have witnessed the struggles and successes of few emerging countries where high education rates is also met by many social disparities within the country allowing only a privileged few to access education.
This has strengthened my desire to contribute in providing what we take for granted, such as education and access to healthcare.
Privileges can be transformed into positive impacts when spread through campaigns of awareness thus promoting sustainable engagement on what matters most for us.
The symbolic meaning of Trek for kids and its cerebral and physical preparation reinforces the fact that behind each of the 40 trekkers chosen, there is an exponential number of ambassadors in the home countries supporting and making a real difference in their communities.
Thank you for supporting me and Save the Children!
Together, WE can !
