We accommodate and support homeless people to lessen the number of rough sleepers

Story

On Thursday the 9th we will be hosting a best anime tournament in ER140, Elvet Riverside. Bring your suggestion and be willing to argue why it is definitely the best anime of all time. Shows will be placed in brackets and members will vote on which show gets to advance to the next round. Winner receives glory and a special role in the discord server.

More importantly, this event is a fundraiser for DASH, Durham Action on Single Housing. As the weather gets colder, it's more important than ever that everyone has access to safe housing. In 2020, DASH received 742 referrals from people who were homeless or threatened with homelessness, and numbers increase every year. Reasons for referrals that DASH have received vary widely, including relationship breakdown, fleeing domestic violence, complex health needs and eviction, to name a few.

Our society's committee believe it is important to give back to the community we live within while at university, and we feel lucky to have the opportunity to fundraise for an amazing cause.

Required donation to partake in the tournament is £5 (but feel free to donate more if you want!)

Donation also doesn't mean you have to take part in the event, so if you can't make the date, are living out of Durham, an alumni member or just want to donate to the charity, send a few coins our way 💓
