Story
Walk completed! -- We'd like to thank our fantastic walkers, all the wonderful supporters who donated helping us to bring our total to over £1300 including donations on the day and cheques received in the post. We'd also like to give a special thanks to the Just Giving platform for hosting this fundraiser and a special thanks to Austin from Vegan Town for helping create the page and fundraise for the event.
I, my friends and a few of their dogs are all walking around the three lakes of Linacre Woods in Chesterfield, Derbyshire to raise funds for the Animals Asia Foundation.
This walk takes about three hours and includes a teddy bears picnic with cuddly toys representing the plight of Moon Bears in China which are kept in small cages and farmed for their bile.
Animals Asia is devoted to ending the barbaric practice of bearbile farming and improving the welfare of animals in China and Vietnam.
They promote compassion and respect for all animals and work to bring about long-term change. Animals Asia has rescued hundreds of bears since 2000 and is the only organisation with a bear sanctuary in China. Their founder and CEO, Jill Robinson MBE, is widely recognised as the world’s leading expert on the cruel bear bile industry, having campaigned against it since 1993. They focus on three major programmes: End Bear Bile Farming, Cat and Dog Welfare, and Captive Animal Welfare.
