Story

A little about Eva…

For those of you that didn’t know Eva, she was a daughter, wife, mother and friend. She was fabulous.

Eva always gave 100%. From the job she loved going to in Vodafone, to the 90s bangers she loved dancing to on nights out, she dedicated herself to everything she did! But nothing brought her greater joy than becoming a mum.

Eva always wanted to be a mother and in May 2021 her dream came true when she and Gary welcomed their precious baby boy Max into the world. This was by far her biggest accomplishment and happiest moment. Shortly after Eva had Max, she started to feel unwell. In October, after a number of tests, Eva and her family got the devastating news that she had liver cancer. Just a few weeks later a
biopsy confirmed that it had spread to her back. Despite the pace at which the cancer had spread, the doctors remained positive and Eva’s treatment plan started immediately with 6 sessions of radium and 2 sessions of immunotherapy. However, sadly the cancer was too advanced and aggressive and just days after Christmas 2021 Eva started to deteriorate. She passed away on January 5th 2022 with her mother, Isabel, and husband, Gary, by her side. Eva was just 36.

Eva’s illness lasted just 10 weeks meaning she didn’t get an opportunity to fight it. We want to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society in Eva’s honour to support others that are or will go through this in the future as well as to support research into new treatments that could save lives.
