Story
Hello!
I'm Angus.
I’ve been a hopeless runner for most of my life, until a couple of years ago, when I discovered Parkrun.
Parkrun has transformed me from hopeless to hopeful.
But, I'd never dreamt of running a marathon...until now!
I agreed to run the Brighton Marathon as a dare when I was working in the City in the spring of 2019.
I'm a man of my word, and I couldn't be prouder to be running in aid of Barnardo's.
Barnardo's is an astonishing charity which protects, supports and nurtures the UK's most vulnerable children. It aims to help bring out the best in children – no matter who they are or what they have been through.
The charity's areas of expertise include:
Fostering and adoption. They have more than 100 years' experience of placing children with foster carers and adoptive families.
Protecting children. They support children who have been abused and help them feel safe again. Barnardo's provide the long-term support they need and helps prevent further cases of abuse.
Supporting young people. The charity supports young people by offering practical and emotional support to enable them to enter adulthood with the confidence they need to achieve their full potential.
I can't wait to run the 26.2 miles THIS WEEKEND on the 12th September in aid of Bernardo’s mission. Please give generously, and help the charity continue its support for young people most in need of help.
Thank you so much for reading.
See you at the finish line,
Angus
