Why I want to hitchhike to Amsterdam

My Dad would always glorify the days of hitchhiking all the way back when he was at university. Now at university myself I attempt to recapture the lost art that is hitchhiking. I don't think I've ever seen someone hitchhike before, especially not in England, so I'm absolutely fascinated to find out if it's possible. It's time to show the world that it can be done, that a complete stranger, the ordinary man, has the generosity to pick up a stranger themselves.

Why Red Cross

It may not be the most exotic choice of charity but, it is an uncontentious choice, one where you, the benevolent donator, can be sure that your money will benefit the world.

International struggle of the Red Cross

The Red Cross is wide-ranging in its ambitions working on a global scale to protect lives without discrimination. At the moment, Red Cross are leading the struggle against the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, the most deadly Philippine typhoon since 1881.

Closer to home

The Red Cross can also be seen to aid matters here in the UK. You may know Red Cross for their first aid training but did you know that they also provide paramedic support across the country, something essential in helping the NHS in these times of austerity.
