Story
After a routine mammogram I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2022.
The news came as a complete shock. I dont know anyone close to me that's had cancer.
Having to tell my family was the hardest thing I've ever done. But their support helped me stay positive, carried me through the tough times, they rallied round to get me to appointments, hold my hand, dry my eyes and let me talk..
Life came to a stop and cancer was my number one priority. I reached out to Breast Cancer Now desperate for information. They helped enormously finding me a support network of ladies going through similar diagnosis and treatment.
I'm a lucky girl...Early detection meant my cancer was treatable. I had surgery, radiotherapy and im on a 5 year plan of hormone treatment.
Check yourselves on the first,, anything that feels or looks different go and get checked! Early detection saves lives.
My zumba class was an hour of happiness when nothing else in my life was making much sense,, the music, people and happy vibes really did help me through the dark days..
Come along to the 2 hour zumbathon class taking place at the Berrow Village Hall on Sunday 15.10.23 10.00am till 12.00 (Run by the amazing Paula).., book your place on the gymcatch site (or email p.stitch@sky.com) & donate 10.00 to the just giving page.
