Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At the age of 15, I took part in a national competition launched by WaterAid. As one of the winners of this competition, my prize was to travel to Tanzania to film a short documentary highlighting the importance of WaterAid's work in several Tanzanian villages.
We visited villages such as Mchemwa, where there were no toilets or clean water. In Mchemwa, the community would queue for hours to collect dirty, contaminated water from hand dug holes. In Chingongwe, we helped to build a concrete foundation for a diesel water pump. WaterAid's presence in the village of Chingongwe had a profound impact on the community both physically and mentally - the atmosphere in this village was one of hope and positivity.
Although almost 5 years ago, the experience of witnessing first hand the impact that WaterAid had on the lives of so many individuals has never left me. The determination and perseverance of the families that I met on my trip has inspired me to run for this charity.
Please take a look at some of the images below that taken during my visit.
