Story
Christian Humphries, Joe Quinn and Craig Duncan have set themselves a mammoth challenge in memory of local boy Morgan Evans. These three motivated men followed by a support vehicle driven by Alan Cairns, will be cycling from Morgan Street in Pontypridd some 600 miles north to Kincraig in September. Their aim? To raise enough money to hold an annual heart screening event right here in our community for the next 4 to 5 years! Morgan died from an undiagnosed heart condition aged just 23 in 2016. Since his death, family and friends raised funds to hold 1 heart screening event for young people aged 14-35. All 100 appointments for the very first screening on 5th May 2019 were booked in under 24 hours showing the great need for such a service! 80% of young people who die from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome as a result of an undiagnosed heart condition have NO symptoms. Save our young people from such tragedy by supporting Christian, Joe and Craig so free heart screening for Badenoch and Strathspey can take place ❤️
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
