Story
What is the Angelman Rally?
The Angelman Rally is a charity motorcycle event formed out of the love and support of a group of lifelong friends who have grown up helping and supporting each other. We have come together now in our biggest endeavour yet - pooling all our resources and know-how into an event that will raise both awareness and money for Angelman Syndrome; a rare genetic disorder that affects the nervous system, results in delayed development, intellectual disability, severe speech impairment, and problems with movement and balance (ataxia). In most affected children, symptoms will also include recurrent seizures (epilepsy) and small head size (microcephaly) - although Angelman Syndrome is also characterised by a happy demeanour and some of the most beautiful smiles you will ever see.
What inspired you to organise a rally for Angelman Syndrome?
The Angelman Rally was inspired by the love of two parents, who's son Henri was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome at 7 months old.
What will the rally involve?
The rally will consist of three bikes riding from London, through France, Italy and on to Mt Etna in Sicily. We hope to raise as much awareness and money as possible - and that’s where you come in! Please donate to our chosen charity, AngelmanUK,
We are also looking for sponsors and partners to join us in making this as high profile as possible to spread the word far and wide. Please ask us for a press pack and we would be delighted to hear from you.
What if you cannot sponsor us but would like to help? We are a co-operative of people who are all doing just that so we would welcome and value your input! Perhaps you’re a YouTuber and want to plug us on your channel, or are you part of a motoring club and want to join us for part of the ride? Perhaps you would like to start your own fundraising event on our behalf, if so, join our team, here, on our Just Giving Page. Maybe you just have a great idea or just wanted to pop in and say hi! - Everyone can help - get in touch, we want to hear from you!
