She did it!
Angelina’s walk was a huge success, she was met at the start by lots of supporters, Eastern Daily Press Newspaper reporter, Just Sheringham magazine, Mike Liggins from BBC Look East news & Graham Lewis from North Norfolk radio.
Everyone cheered as she started off, walking nicely holding my hand, She did have a little tantrum when she had to walk past the toy shop instead of going in it, but soon got over it and carried on walking nicely with us, loving the attention & smiling at the cameras.
Graham Lewis from North Norfolk Radio broadcasted throughout the whole morning giving live announcements as to how far she had got, also asked drivers if they see us hoot the horn we certainly got lots of hoots that day!!
Mike Liggins from BBC Look East News along with cameraman Shaun followed Angelina filming every step.
We had lots of friends & family there all encouraging Angelina to keep going, she managed just under 1 mile before wanted to be carried,Instead I sat on the pavement with her, she had a drink & a rest then threw her bottle pushed herself up with her right hand and started again, Reaching the Mile banner along the Cromer road was amazing, she then continued along heading back towards the town of Sheringham again, It was a lovely atmosphere when we walked down sheringham high street balloons had been put up outside shops & nearly everyone stopped to put money in the collection box’s which added up to £273.60.
When Angelina came in at the finishing line it was hard to hold back the tears, to think that angelinas 1st year of life was taken with the seizures & alot of damage was done to her brain, then to go through major brain surgery to 1 year on completing a 2 mile walk even with a weakness down her left side it is such an achievment
Angelina has shown me so much strength & inspires me everyday with her determination always finding away to do things with only 1 side working correctly she really is a little miricle.
I would like to Thank everyone who sponsored Angelina, Martin Greenland (Logowear) for providing the tops & Graphic Edge sheringham for donating the banners.
The Sturge Weber Foundation UK are delighted with how much has been raised and would like to say a personal Thank You to you all, the money will go along way in continuing to help Support children & thier families effected by sturge weber syndrome.
Thank you Lisa x
