Story
Running the London Marathon has been on my "to do before I hit 40 list" for about 20 years! After watching it again on TV this year I suddenly realised that at 38 I would have to actually enter this year if I was to stand ANY chance of achieving my goal. Thank goodness the ballot was open a little longer than normal or I would never have entered. I never in a million years expected to be so lucky in my first attempt! Those of you who know me know that I don't look (or generally feel) like a runner but I have with the support of my daughter Bron been following the NHS fit for life couch to 5K app. I guess now I am hoping that Bron will continue to help me to reach my new marathon distance over the next 34 weeks!
I hope you will all follow my progress and cheer me on whether in person or via social media etc on April 24th 2016. If you can help me to reach my fundraising target as well that would be amazing. Cancer has had a huge impact on the lives of my family and I and Macmillan provide such a wonderful support for everyone touched by this life changing illness. I hope you can show your support by donating even just a small amount to help me reach my target by next April.
