Team Ricoh's Spooky Specs Challenge

Spooky Halloween Walk · 31 October 2014
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
One year ago, I went to get my eyes tested for the first time since 1984. I needed reading glasses. Since receiving my glasses, my life has been enriched as, once again, I can see to read books and no longer have to hold my phone at arms length to read or write an email or a text message. Apparently, it's an age thing!
Last November, I took part in a health clinic for Memusi in the Rift Valley, Kenya. One of the very noticeable complaints that the adults of the village had were eye problems, mainly due to spending hours bent over fires used for cooking.
I will, once again, we visiting Memusi School and the Magadi village in November and would very much like to take reading glasses out with me.
I have the support of a local optician who is going to source, quality, but cost-effective 'ready-readers' and give me a basic lesson in eye testing but I desperately need the funds to pay for the glasses. These glasses will cost £3.00 per pair.
The Ricoh Arena Sales Team and I are going to host a fund-raising day on 31st October to include a cake sale and pumpkin competition but are also going to be taking part in a 10k spooky walk in the dark around the haunted sites of Coventry. This is particularly challenging to Shakeela and Rashi who are terrified of ghosts!!
