Story
Friends, it's time for the lycra to come into its own. It's stretched and shimmered its way along the banks of the Thames a few times as I've staggered, beetroot-faced, over the pebbly ground - but now it needs a bigger and better challenge.
I have pretended to momentarily contemplate doing a 10k run before when the occasional sporty person has suggested it, swiftly followed with a sardonic 'yeah right' harrumph and a 'do I LOOK sporty?!' raise of the eyebrow - but somehow this time when the idea was postulated, I found my eyebrows stayed still...and I actually began to consider it possible.
So, having got that far, I thought that if I did do it, I could raise money for the wonderful people who looked after mum so well when she was very ill.
Marie Curie hospices provide free 24 hr care in their hospices or free home care for the terminally ill. The hospice that mum was in was bright, clean, friendly and the nurses were absolutely brilliant. They couldn't have been more accommodating to us and couldn't have looked after mummy better.
Please give as generously as you can so that terminally ill people, and their families, can continue receive such wonderful care.
Thank you.
