Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
"I feel privileged to be taking part in the 30th anniversary of this event and I am training hard to complete the 5km swim in good timing. My personal challenge is on Friday 7th of April at 6pm and I am hoping to raise at least £1500 for the Marie Curie Cancer Support.
I was a competitive swimmer as a teenager training 6 days per week and my dad who died suddenly of cancer was my taxi driver and my biggest supporter when it came to swimming. He attended all of my training sessions and I know he would be so very proud to know that I am back in the pool after 35 years raising money for such a prodigious charity. My aunt and her daughter (my cousin) are sadly battling this illness and I feel humbled at how incredibly brave and positive their outlook is despite the situation. They are both such a powerful source of inspiration for me to complete this challenge".
