In memory of Shannon Gilmour

Story

On the 16th July 2013 my little cousin Shannon Gilmour sadly passed away at the young age of 17.  Shannon was diagnosed with Kearns-Sayre Syndrome which caused her to suffer from paralysis of the eye muscle, diabetes, cardiac defects, deafness and deterioration of the muscles.  Although Shannon went through so much in her life she never let her illness get to her and fought until the very end, she was such a beautiful young women, her smile and laugh could brighten up anyone's day and anyone who was privileged to have known her or had her in their life would totally agree she truly was amazing.

Shannon stayed at Robin House a lot during her final years and when she sadly passed away she was able to stay in the specially built room they have with her mum and dad and brothers so they had that little bit longer with her.  My family can not thank the staff enough for the care and support they provided.

On the 27th September i will be doing a sponsored Sky Dive to raise as much as we can for CHAS.
