Story
I have chosen to walk with Rainbow Valley in this years Glasgow Kiltwalk. Rainbow Valley is a charity that is very close to my heart and by making a donation today you are supporting me more than you know.
My story most of my friends know!
My daughter was diagnosed with Leukaemia aged 16 and she led a campaign to raise the register of potential donors for all of her adult life.
Johanna never found that donor but was always so proud of the fact she encouraged family and friends to join and they subsequently went in to offer the chance of life to others ❤️
During her battle with this disease, Johanna knew she was surrounded by the best medical team in the world. However, she felt they were expert in her disease and she was more than that! She wanted to explore how to take back control from her diagnosis and what she could do to enhance the incredible treatment she received from the NHS. She felt she lived from appointment to appointment and craved to learn how to empower herself.
Johanna always wished for a place she could visit that would help heal her mind body and soul.
7 yrs after her passing I launched a charity that would do just that! Her love of Rainbows inspired the charities name RAINBOW VALLEY!
Unfortunately, we have all been affected by cancer as we know someone with cancer and Rainbow Valley’s aim is to guide people through a program of 7 tools to empower them to thrive and not just survive after a cancer diagnosis.
Since launching Rainbow Valley over 10 yrs ago, I have ran many events of different size shapes and forms but I have never taken part in a sponsored event until now.
Signing up for the Kiltwalk this yr is going to be a huge challenge for me as I am not the sporty type but with so many of my Rainbow Valley Family coming forward to take part in the Kilt Walk I feel it is fitting I join them and we walk together to raise the profile and the vital funds to empower those who will benefit from our unique courses.
I can’t express how grateful I am to everyone who has helped me over the years keep Johanna’s memory positive but for the first time I am asking for sponsorship towards my challenge with the KiltWalk 🫣🙏 every £ counts and is hugely appreciated ❤️
Rainbow Valley is there for people who have been affected by cancer, which we all know too well, that this affects many people. They are passionate about educating people to take control of their cancer diagnosis by accessing new ways to thrive and survive. Their vison is to enable everyone, affected by cancer, to access free information on how to nurture themselves by embracing a holistic approach to their health.Your donation not only supports me on my Kiltwalk journey but it also allows Rainbow Valley to continue their work and focus on empowering people affected by cancer to nourish their mind body & soul and take responsibility for their health.Thank you!
