Story

I was diagnosed with TRIPLE NEGATIVE BREAST cancer in April, which was quite a shock, found a lump, went strait to doctors, then hospital to have mammogram & biopsy on same day, I caught it early even though it was big, 3cm, it is very aggressive triple negative, so had surgery to remove it in May & also 2 lump nodes removed, as far as doctors know it hadn’t spread, but because it was an aggressive type, a small molecule might of escaped to somewhere else in my body, this type of cancer has a high risk of coming back, so was beneficial to have chemotherapy & then radiotherapy to increase my chances of survival & it not coming back.

I have been quite fortunate to not have any side effects, apart from lots of hot flushes, I’ve had 3 chemotherapy sessions every 3 weeks, 3 more to go, then radiotherapy after them, so all my treatments will be over in November.

I have also been lucky so far not to lose my hair, I am using the cold cap, throughout my treatment, which is instant brain freeze, but after 20 minutes, my head is numb, so can’t feel it.

I thought it would never happen to me, which most people think, but a women is diagnosed with breast cancer every 10 minutes in the uk .
