The South West Coast Path Association was founded forty years ago to bring together those who love this wonderful part of England's coastline and to help care for it so that as many people as possible can enjoy it. This year we, the members, are celebrating the SWCPA's anniversary by joining in a series of walks from Tuesday April 16th onward, which will cover the whole 630 miles of the coastal path, starting from its beginning at Minehead or from its end at South Haven Point near Poole, and finishing on May 7th at Land's End. All those taking part in the relays will be raising funds via sponsorship and this money will go towards improving the path, maintaining it and ensuring that our children and grandchildren can, like us, take pleasure in the beauty of land and sea.
Please help by sponsoring me if you can. At present I have booked in to walk on the following six days. I have included the distance and the type of walking involved - remember that most of the path is along cliff tops !
Thursday 25th April 2013: Morwenstow to Bude. 8.9 miles. Severe.
Friday 26th April 2013: Bude to Crackington Haven. 10.2 miles. Easy, then strenuous.
Saturday 27th April 2013: Crackington Haven to Tintagel. 11.4 miles. Strenuous, then moderate.
Sunday 28th April 2013: Tintagel to Port Isaac. 9.1 miles. Moderate, then severe.
Monday 29th April 2013: Port Isaac to Rock. 11.7 miles. Severe, then moderate, then easy.
Tuesday 30th April 2013: Padstow to Porthcothan. 13.6 miles. Easy.
You can sponsor me by the day or by the mile, or whatever suits you best - but please help us to keep this wonderful natural resource open, safe and available to all who love Britain's coastline.
Thanks to everyone !
