Mum was unwell since the new year. On 26 April she was diagnosed with lung cancer and soon after we were told it had spread and was untreatable. Mum had radiotherapy which got rid of the pain, but mum continued to suffer with so many other things. She spent her last weeks and days at Weston Hospice before dying peacefully on 2 August. During this time mum was cared for my an amazing bunch of doctors, nurses, chefs and other carers. There was nothing they wouldn't do for mum and they said it was their pleasure and privilege to do so. They were also brilliant to all of us who visited, taking particular care of dad. We can't begin to say thank you enough to Weston Hospicecare, but I can start by taking part in their 10km (not the) Midnight Beach Walk on Saturday 8 August. Please donate as much as you are able to, to ensure they can continue to provide the excellent care for others. They are a charity and rely on donations. The care they give to their patients is free. There is no doubt that Weston Hospice made my mum's final weeks as comfortable as they possibly could be and we will always be grateful to them for that. Thank you xxxx
